Bhagat Tarachand Accessibility Upgrade

Bhagat Tarachand – Restaurant Chain Accessibility Project

Project Overview:
Bhagat Tarachand, one of Mumbai’s most renowned restaurant chains, serves thousands of families daily. To ensure barrier-free dining for senior citizens, wheelchair users, and individuals with temporary mobility issues, Acc-Red conducted detailed accessibility evaluations across multiple outlets. Key issues included high entrance steps, narrow passages, and uneven flooring. We installed heavy-duty portable ramps built to withstand continuous footfall, enabling safe and smooth entry for all guests.

Client Background:
Bhagat Tarachand is a 50+ year-old restaurant chain known for traditional Indian cuisine and consistently high customer volume across Mumbai.

Challenge:
Many outlets operate from older buildings with elevated entrances and limited space for permanent ramp installations, making accessibility difficult during peak hours.

Solution:
Acc-Red installed lightweight, portable aluminium ramps custom-fit to the entrance height of each branch. These ramps ensure safe, quick mobility while retaining the restaurant’s existing layout.

Impact:
• Accessibility enhanced across multiple branches
• Elderly and wheelchair users now enter easily and safely
• Improved overall family dining experience
• Strong positive community response toward inclusivity
